Marshall Rubin




Manchester-born, Marshall Rubin, is a celebrated portrait painter who has exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters' exhibitions in London and at exhibitions throughout Europe and in New York. He spent his early years painting in a studio in the artistic quarter of Paris. Working in oils on canvas, his portfolio includes a formidable collection of portraits of clowns, often in performance; many painted as commissions. Other subjects include portraits of famous entertainers from the stage, the Music Hall, and the world of music, including a drawing completed at the request of Paul Young, from the band 'Mike & the Mechanics'.
In recognition of his expertise in his specialist field, Marshall Rubin was invited to exhibit at the National Music Hall and Variety Festival at Weston-Super-Mare, in April 2004 and the renowned clown, Clown Bluey, invited Rubin to exhibit his work exclusively at the International World Clown Conference, held in September of 2004. Rubin's work has been published in Lancashire Life magazine amongst others. His work is held in the private collections of celebrities around the world.
