Ian McKay

Ian McKay's work its concerned with reality, struggle and existence, a concept expressed through the subject matter of buildings that are hidden away and overlooked. Fargmented pieces of the building are used, simplified using minimal line. The basic source is observational drawing and each painting has its own preliminary full size drawing which determines the composition, form, volume and scale of the painting. The work aims to document our everyday changing environment and uses the buildings to represent lost heritage.
