Emerson Mayes and Richard Clare are both Yorkshiremen, moved to capture the essence of the northern landscape.  Emerson studied on the BA Graphic Design course at Leeds Polytechnic, specialising in illustration.  He sees himself firmly in the British tradition stretching from Constable and Turner to Paul nash and, most recently, Len Tabner.
