Born in Poland in 1968, Agnieska Kozien studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Cracow, from 1990 and graduated in 1995. It was through such scholarships that she has been able to continue to paint and so to win a distinction in international exhibitions in the Czech Republic and at Radom.
A series of paintings completed between 2000 and 2002 was inspired by the cities of the north-west Indian state of Rajasthan. She gives us images which clear composition and intense, bright colours which capture the atmosphere of the state. "Through the swirling dust appear fortresses and cities scattered like lost pearls on the sand. Pink Jaipur, shimmering all tints of red and brown in beams of sunset....Jodhpur submerged in the blue of the sky.."
Since 1992 she has presented her paintings in over forty exhibitions in Poland and Austria. She is currently busy in painting, photography and graphic design.
