David Keenan was born in Liverpool and trained as a glassmaker. In 1976 he became design director of one of Britain's leading glass companies and won the prestigious David Flack Award from the British Society of Glassmakers. From 1978 he worked in training in design in the West Indies, which led to exhibitions in the West Indies, New York and Puerto Rico. He has since returned to England and runs his own glass making studio in Shropshire. His commissions include a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift for The Queen and Prince Philip.
