John Thompson

John's emotionally charged work creates an artistic metaphore for the contingent realities of a previous generation of typical Northern men.Although the image of the 1930's cloth cap is one pf personal identity of his own time and lifestyle, John sees his paintings as fundamentally classless and non-political.His on going Group series of paintings seem to portray the survival of the spirit, admidst the transition between life and death. The intriguing images leaves the viewer wondering 'Who are They?' and 'Where are they Going?'
