Jessica Ingram

'Seduction'

Dyed fabric using paint brush and netting pinned onto a stretcher frame.

Creation in tissue paper overlaid with poster paint.

Jessica Ingram's started with simple curiosity regarding the possibilities of colour mixing. Much of her work continues experiments with colour, trying different combinations and the effect upon colour of different modes of application, including brush painting, printing, batik and dyeing, and different substrates such as opaque paper, tissue paper, card and cloth fabrics. Her focus on fabrics, old and new, inspires her interest in clothing and especially hats! The influences on her development include Bridget Riley, Caroline Broadwell and Tiziania Bendall, whose work strongly influences Jessica during her final year at university.
