Andrea Ottaviano
Papaveri
oil on wood, 40 x 36cm

In his exhibition, Rio Amajari, London-based Italian artist Andrea Ottaviano presents visually impressive work in which colour and vitality are fundamental: bright colours which recall the 'South of the World'. The paintings are an explosion of colour in oil, and demonstrate the power of this medium to intrigue the eye. Subtle combination of hues and textures tease and invite the viewer to discover figures and secondary elements within the paintings. Intrinsic to his work is a concept based on the 'primitivism', with variations of meaning within each piece. These works of art intimately link colour and emotion in a fun and vibrant way.
